Message from your AS President!

Hello Spring 2012 Accounting Society!

I am extremely excited to have everyone part of our wonderful organization. The executive board has a lot of extremely exciting events planned for this semester. As always, we will have our usual events such as Meet the Firms, Mock Interviews, Golf Tournament and Awards Banquet. In addition, we are going to have Mock Meet the Firms, Golf Lessons, a Disneyland trip and many more events where you will have the opportunity to meet some great people and professionals alike.

This semester, we will be working closely with Beta Alpha Psi to offer you various seminars to better yourself on a professional and personal level. It is my goal to make sure my members have the resources they need to find a job in their field of interest after they graduate. We are hoping to branch out from the usual Public Accounting route by offering opportunities in Fraud Examination, Internal Auditing, Managerial Accounting, and Information Systems. Our VP of Correspondence, Perlin Lau has worked very hard to create an ACFE chapter within Accounting Society this past semester. We are hoping some of our members will take this opportunity to help us lead the other chapters we wish to implement (IIA, IMA, and ISACA).

I hope everyone will take advantage of the many opportunities that we will be providing this semester. I understand the difficulty of time management we have as college students, but being involved in Accounting Society is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your career. I can personally attest to the effectiveness of our club as it has helped me find the position of my dreams, and those around me have been showered with success because of their involvement in Accounting Society. We offer a rare, hands-on perspective into the world of accounting, that many courses do not offer.

I look forward to seeing everyone at our weekly meetings, as I would love to get to know everyone who makes our club so successful. Without the support of our members, our club would struggle to retain exposure in the business world. Best of luck in your studies this semester. Go Titans!

Warmest Regards,

Leszek Radzyminski
